Making a difference to professional practice

Synopsis

The National STEM Centre supports the teaching of science, design and technology, computing, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in schools and colleges throughout the United Kingdom. This report outlines the different resources available to STEM teachers to help them in their professional development.

The Centre provides information on different community groups it hosts to connect teachers and technicians. They offer a self-evaluation tool, based on the Ofstead grading scale, to help science departments identity their key strengths, as well as areas for improvement.

CPD Opportunities

With its particular emphasis on STEM subjects, the information provided by The Centre will be particularly useful for teachers or heads at schools looking to improve their science, technology, engineering and maths teaching and results.
