Thinking, fast and slow

Synopsis

In this now famous book, Nobel Prize-winner Professor Daniel Kahneman explores the way the human mind works, and how it affects our decision-making. Examining the so-called two ways of thinking - fast, intuitive thinking, and slow, rational thinking - he explains how our brains can be tripped up by errors and prejudices, even when we think we are being rational.

Summarising the latest psychological research on human judgement, Kahneman provides practical techniques for slower, smarter thinking, which he believes leads to better decision-making.

CPD Opportunities

Though not related specifically to education, Kahneman’s book will be a useful recourse for teachers keen to help their pupils develop cognitively and critically.
