Enhancing learning and teaching with technology: what the research says
Synopsis
This is an edited collection of essays exploring how technology can support teaching and how different technologies can enhance learning. It brings together researchers, technologists and educators to explore and demonstrate how technology can be designed and used to best effect for learning and teaching. The collection offers guidance on learning and teaching practices backed up by evidence and vigorous tested research.
Split into six parts, the first two parts provide a set of learning principles and an account of some of the factors that influence how and when learning takes place and the range of technologies that can be used to support it.
The remaining parts of the book offer more detailed accounts of four important educational challenges that technology may help to address. This includes questions on how technology is used to engage learners to learn; how learners can be supported to get the best from technologies; how technology can be used to support adult learners, and how it can be used to support teachers.
