Synopsis
The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) online resource was established in 2002 as an initiative of the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education. Its goal is to provide educators with the information they need to make evidence-based decisions.
With over 700 publications and more than 10,500 studies in the online database, the WWC aims to inform researchers, educators, and policy makers as they work toward improving education for students. It includes intervention reports, practice guides, quick reviews, and single study reviews.
Topics covered include: pupils with disabilities; college and career preparation; dropout prevention; early childhood education; education technology; English language learners; literacy; maths; post-secondary education; school choice; school organisation and governance; science; pupil behaviour; teacher and leader effectiveness; and teacher incentives.
