Teach like a champion 2.0: 62 techniques that put students on the path to college

Synopsis

This book, an update of Lemov’s 2010 Teach Like a Champion, is based on best practice from experienced teachers and provides practical knowledge and proven techniques to help teachers improve their classroom teaching. It has become a staple of teacher training both in the UAS and the UK.

The new guide contains 62 engaging and easy to implement techniques that Lemov claims will put pupils on the path to higher education, covering everything from classroom management to inspiring pupil engagement. The book also includes links to 75 video clips of teachers modelling the techniques in the classrooms.

Lemov’s main argument behind his Teach Like a Champion series is that the problems and challenges faced by teachers are widespread, shared and predictable. He suggests that the best teachers have found techniques to deal with these problems, and that it is possible to recount exactly how good teachers solve these problems for benefit of the profession.
